Three videos from Battlefield 3's presentation at the Electronic Entertainment Expo have been posted, focusing on urban combat, desert warfare, and the game's main innovations.
Previous trailers had been set in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, but Operation Metro reveals multiplayer action both on and underneath the French capital's city streets.
Thunder Run exhibits more of the single player campaign, this time from within mobile armor, as Battlefield studio head Patrick Bach takes his E3 audience through an eight-minute mission.
Finally, the Frostbite 2 vignette highlights Battlefield 3's technological strengths: realistic animation, architectural destruction, large and detailed environments, cinematic quality, and atmospheric audio.
Battlefield 3 needs all these resources at its beck and call in order to dent the Call of Duty series's sales superiority.
The big-budget pair are targeting the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC for release at around the same time: Battlefield 3 on October 25, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 a fortnight later on November 8.
