Fake Harvard rejection letter: Girl behind viral spoof worried it will affect her chances with Ivy League university

Molly McGaan’s friend @hawntr tweeted her spoof letter two days ago. In that time it has been retweeted over 61,000 times and exploded across Reddit.
In the satirical piece printer on the university’s letterhead, Harvard says it is unable to accept Ms McGaan, 18, regardless of her proficiency in “dank memes” and her level of “$wagg moneyyyy”.
It reads: “For future reference, it is not wise to start an essay with the words, “listen here u little slanks” and end with “McGaan out *drops mic*.
“We also didn’t need a copy of your mixtape, regardless of how “fire” it is (one admissions counsellor listened to it, and we are pretty sure 40 minutes of you making animals noises is not “fire”).
But now, McGaan, who attends the Francis W. Parker School in Chicago, has tweeted that she’s worried that Harvard won’t be best pleased with her joke, and has stressed that she penned the letter as a joke for her school’s satirical magazine Citizen Poke.
She told the Boston Globe she was inspired to write the letter after she was turned down by the theatre school at the University of Michigan.
“I wanted to turn something sad into something funny,” McGaan said.
“I have no clue what this is going to do to my Harvard [application],” she added.
