Parke has just signed a new contract with the UFC, and believes his opponent’s two-fight losing streak means the pressure lies squarely with the Russian.
“I was in the same position that he was in, last time” the Brit said during the UFC Fight Night media day. “There’s a lot at stake for him, depending on how the fight goes, whether or not it’s a real close fight, it’s a war, back and forth, he maybe ends up, you know, being on the losing end. Could still get a chance to come back again, but I’m hoping it’s a great fight, I’m not trying to feed into the whole ‘he’s on a two-fight losing streak, if he loses, he’s gone’, I’m not really thinking about that, I’m just thinking about getting in and putting on a great performance."
Parke goes on to discuss the lack of pressure on him, and further apply pressure to his opponent. “I’ve just signed a new contract, so there’s no pressure on me, I don’t give a f*** if I lose to be honest, I’m just going in there to actually put on a fight.”
