Your support makes all the difference.UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has been challenged to a duel by former fighter and pro wrestler David 'Tank' Abbott in a sexist rant.
Speaking on The Proving Ground Podcast earlier this week, Abbott used the tired old misogynistic trope of sandwich-making to summons Rousey and suggested he could beat her without even preparing for the fight.
"She's a girl. It's all about this emotional stuff," Abbott initially said. "I don't care, I will fight any woman on this Earth for free… I won't even train."
Abbott, formerly one of the biggest names in mixed martial arts, then went on to make his sexist provocation, while also throwing in transphobic language and a hefty wager.
"You can’t be, like, a tranny - you gotta be a female. Born a female," Abbott said.
"I will fight you and if I win, which is going to happen, and you're going to get bashed up good, you have to make me a sandwich."
"If you win, I'll give you $100,000," he added.
Rousey's success in mixed martial arts has seen her become something of a feminist icon, particularly after publicly criticising boxer Floyd Mayweather for his history of domestic violence.
The 28-year-old has previously said she believes she could beat Mayweather in a no-rules contest. Abbott went on to comment on the rivalry in his interview, believing Rousey to have no hope against 'Money'.
"At the end of the day, Pretty Boy Floyd would knock the living stuffing out of Ronda Rousey."
