Ever since Nurmagomedov’s dominant victory over Conor McGregor at UFC 229, there has been speculation of an unlikely contest with boxing PPV king Mayweather.
The Russian called out Mayweather shortly after his victory and the undefeated boxer responded positively, suggesting he would take the fight after he beat McGregor last year.
But UFC president White has said he has no interest in allowing another one of his superstars to cross into boxing.
“If Mayweather wants to fight, come fight, come to the UFC,” he told TMZ.
“We’re not boxing again, we did that once, that’s over. You wanna fight, you come fight… a real fight.”
White also gave an update on the Nevada State Athletic Commission investigation into the fracas following Nurmagomedov’s win over McGregor, while suggesting the Russian will next fight Tony Ferguson.
“They’ve got to go before the NSAC which is scheduled for December and we’ll see what happens,” he said.
“Tony Ferguson is the right fight, he didn't lose the belt in a fight so it's the right fight.
“It's the fight to make, we’ll see how this whole thing plays out, it all depends on the suspension.”
