First round of Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor tickets sell out and are now on resale for up to £76,000

The first round of tickets for Floyd Mayweather’s Las Vegas super-fight with Conor McGregor have sold out just minutes after going on sale, with some now changing hands on third-party websites at between £1871 and £76,000.

Advanced sale tickets for the fight, which will be staged at the T-Mobile Arena on August 26, went on sale on Monday evening.

Only those who had signed up for Ticketmaster’s ‘verified fans’ scheme could purchase tickets in the sale, and only two tickets could be purchased at a time. Before the sale, codes for the right to access the ticket sale were being sold on eBay for up to $200 (£153).

Prices started at £385 for the cheapest ticket, rising to an eye-watering £7706 for a premium front row seat. But those prices do not include the cost of Ticketmaster’s 8.5% service fee, meaning the most expensive ticket set fans back £8361.01.

But – predictably – prices are much more expensive on second hand sites such as Stubhub and Viagogo.

On StubHub, the cheapest ticket currently available is £1970 (£1514), with the most expensive being sold for $19,930 (£15,318). While on Viagogo, ticket prices range between £2,080 to £13,615.

The fight will be staged at the 20,000-capacity T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, although if Mayweather’s earlier fight against Manny Pacquiao is anything to go by, the majority of seats will be taken up by celebrities and members of the two entourages rather than fight fans.
