Your support makes all the difference.Conor McGregor has insisted that he has never been “properly beaten” after he returned to the UFC by defeating Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone at UFC 246 on Saturday night.
McGregor needed only 40 seconds to defeat Dnald Cerrone in his eagerly anticipated UFC return in Las Vegas.
McGregor, fighting for the first time in 15 months at UFC 246 at the T-Mobile Arena, bloodied Cerrone's nose in the opening few seconds of their welterweight bout with a couple of unorthodox shoulder strikes.
McGregor then stepped back and a head kick high over the guard landed square on the jaw of Cerrone, who fell to the floor and was left covering up as the Irishman rained down punches, prompting an early stoppage.
And, after his 22nd professional victory, McGregor downplayed the suggestion he needed to win to get his career back on track – and insisted he is yet to be “properly” defeated.
“You beat a man by concussing him,” McGregor insisted.
“You beat a man by putting him down. I have never been beat. Not properly beat.
“I have been outside of the game and sporadic in my commitment.”
McGregor has lost four times in his mixed martial arts career, on each occasion by submission.
