The Irishman is already looking beyond ‘Cowboy’ as he makes his highly anticipated return to the Octagon after 15 months out.
The submission defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov last time out has not dimmed his enthusiasm to fight the Russian once again though.
McGregor’s future remains flexible though, with the Irishman open to returning to lightweight or staying at welterweight, but he has four names in particular he will be chasing later this year.
“I’d like to face Tony Ferguson, I have a history with Tony,” McGregor said. “We managed Tony, he was well looked after and was one of the highest paid non-champions in the game.
“I’d like a bout with Tony at some point and at some stage we must do the rematch, I’m pushing for the Moscow bout, both are in the crosshairs.
“It’s the McGregor multi-million dollar fight club, Donald is next up, this will be a multi-million dollar pay day for Donald, going from a couple of hundred thousand to the seven-figure mark and I’m proud of that.
“I made this bout at 170 for the excitement that is going on in the division and I want to get in there with the BMF or the world championship belt, both of those men are on my radar.
“Whichever one comes up first, I just want activity. I’m going to go in and acquire rounds here. I’m not going to be in a rush, I’m going to pressure Donald and I’m going to hurt him – if he can last I’ll be happy
“I want to get some rounds in here and build on that; God willing I get out safe and whoever is up next is up next, you’re going to see a lot of me.”
