From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Reigning champion Andy Murray returns to action on day three at Wimbledon as the Scotsman takes on Wimbledon debutant Blaz Rola on Court 1.

Murray eased through his first round tie against David Goffin and while little is known about Rola's performance on grass, he will have asked Briton James Ward about the Slovenian's style of play, with Ward having recently beaten Rola at the French Open.

With Murray absent from Centre court today, Number One seed Novak Djokovic will be the main attraction as he takes on Radek Stepanek in the final match of the day.

Elsewhere, Naomi Broady hopes to continue her fairy tale Wimbledon journey as she faces formidable opponent Caroline Wozniacki

Broady, from Fred Perry's native Stockport, has had no Lawn Tennis Association funding for the past seven years because of a youthful indiscretion and almost gave up the sport a year ago.

Ranked 164, she outlasted the hard-grunting world No 94 Timea Babos from Hungary, 2-6, 7-6, 6-0 on Monday to reach the next round.
