From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

For the seventh year in succession, Andy Murray heads into a Wimbledon quarter-final today as he faces close friend and 11th-seed Grigor Dimitrov.

While Murray returns to Centre Court knowing full well what to expect, it is relatively new territory for Dimitrov, who will have to overcome a crowd heavily in favour of the local hero and reigning champion. Still, Dimitrov will take inspiration from his quarter-final run at this year's Australian Open.

Following Murray's match will be the all-Swiss battle for a place in the last four between Stanislas Wawrinka and Roger Federer.

Elsewhere, 2011 Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic will look to set-up a semi-final against the winner of Murray and Dimitrov as he meets Marin Cilic.

The 25-year-old Croatian is being coached by 2001 wild card winner Goran Ivanisevic and will hope to follow his coach’s epic run in the tournament 13 years ago.
