From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. There are some sporting rivalries that need no introduction. The one between Novak and Roger is certainly one of them. Whenever the Joker meets the Gentleman we’re up for a treat.

Fededer who has only lost one Wimbledon final to day, is contesting for a record 8 title at SW19. It will however be the first time that he faces Djokovic on the final day.

They met each other 34 times before. Federer won 18 times, Djokovic proved better on 16 occasions. Their encounters went down in history as some of the best five-setter thrillers.

En route to the final Federer was up against Milos Raonic, Stan Wawrinka, Tommy Robredo, Santiago Giraldo, Gilles Muller and Paolo Lorenzi and has dropped only one set in total (against Wawrinka).

His rival had a much tougher two weeks in London playing against Grigor Dimitrov, Marin Cilic, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Gilles Simon, Radek Stepanek and Andrey Golubev and lost a total of four sets.

Although Djokovic is still the favourite, Federer will not give up without a fight. If Rod Laver and other tennis experts were right that Roger has another Grand Slam in him than when if not now and where if not at his beloved Wimbledon?
