The boy dropped to the floor as temperatures reached 22°C, forcing the match to be suspended.
He was assisted by two line judges and taken off the court to receive medical assistance.
The match resumed a few minutes later, with Lopez — the winner at Queen’s Club last week — eventually prevailing 6-4, 6-2, 6-4.
The ball boy was not the only person to suffer in the high temperatures on Monday, with a spectator passing out during Heather Watson’s victory over City McNally on Court No 12.
The Met Office has forecast hot temperatures throughout the first week of Wimbledon, with temperatures likely to climb to 24°C.
Ahead of The Championships, a Met Office spokesperson said: “It’s generally looking dry and bright for Wimbledon.
“There are going to be a lot of sunny spells, and the weather is expected to stay bright and dry.
“Temperatures are expected to stay around 22°C for the rest of the week, and may even climb to 24°C towards the end of the first week of the tournament.
“On Wednesday it’s going to be bright and sunny, around 23°C, although there will be some cloud cover on Thursday, it will stay around 24°C.
“It’s going to be pretty settled and benign for most of the week.”
