The two-time winner and world number 10 has endured a difficult couple of years beset by injury and struggles to return to the type of form that has seen him win 14 Grand Slams. The recent loss to Alexandr Dolgopolov in his opening match at Queens was his latest set back.
However, most would still back him to progress further than the fourth round that his seeding suggests should be the end of the road, despite falling at that stage last year to Nick Kyrgios. His seeding for this year's tournament, which starts next Monday, means he could face one of the leading contenders in the last 16.
The top seed is reigning champion Novak Djokovic, whilst last year's beaten finalist Roger Federer is second.
Andy Murray, who won the title in 2013 and is among the favourites after his recent victory at Queens, is ranked third for the tournament. French Open champion Stan Wawrinka, who has never progressed past the quarter-finals at the All England Club, is fourth.
Serena Williams heads the women's line-up ahead of last year's winner Petra Kvitova.
