Your support makes all the difference.Both top-seeded Austrian Sylvia Plischke and second seed Sarah Pitkowski from France advanced to the second round of the dlrs 100,000 Budapest Ladies Open claycourt tournament Tuesday.
Plischke downed her Belgian opponent, Els Callens, who is 83rd on the world list, in two straight sets 6-4, 6-3, while Pitkowski could secure her place in the tournament only in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, against Greta Arn from Germany, who advanced as a qualifiers.
Hungarian prodigy Aniko Kapros, who was the champion both in singles and in doubles of this year's junior Australian Open and played with a wild card, was defeated by Switzerland's Miroslava Vavrinec in three sets, 5-7, 7-6 (4), 6-3.
Kapros was already in a 7-5, 5-0 lead, when Vavrinec, 104th in the world, switched to higher gear and defeated Kapros, who is not yet on the world list.
The other Hungarian, Rita Kuti-Kis, was beaten by the 6th seed Czech Adriana Gersi, 7-5, 6-3.
