From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Greg Rusedski put his singles pain behind him with a thrilling victory in the doubles at the Nasdaq-100 Open in Miami last night.

Rusedski, who was beaten in straight sets by Thomas Johansson of Sweden in the singles on Friday, teamed up with the American Justin Gimelstob to defeat the Australian pair Wayne Arthurs and Paul Henley 6-4, 2-6, 7-6, with an 11-9 win in the tie-break.

Rusedski and Gimelstob play the Spanish pairing Feliciano Lopez and Rafael Nadal in the last 16.

Rusedski's former Davis Cup team-mate Tim Henman today faces Juan Ignacio Chela, of Argentina, in the third round of the singles. It is a match which Henman is relishing, not least because he enjoyed arguably his best moment against the 25-year-old in the quarter-finals of last year's French Open, overcoming his aversion to clay to pummel the clay-court specialist.

In other men's singles results last night, the third seed Marat Safin tumbled out, losing 6-7, 1-6 to Dominik Hrbaty of Slovakia. Juan Carlos Ferrero, of Spain, beat the Russian Igor Andreev 6-4 6-3 while Ivan Ljubicic, of Croatia, defeated Vince Spadea, of the United States, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6.

In the women's singles, Russia's Elena Likhovtseva beat Ai Sugiyama, of Japan, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
