Paul Newman's guide to Magic Monday
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Djokovic v Troicki
Novak Djokovic has won his last 11 meetings with his fellow Serb Viktor Troicki, who is in the second week for the first time and has made just two quarter- finals in a mediocre year.
Gasquet v Mayer
Richard Gasquet, a wonderful talent but a perennial under-achiever, is through to the fourth round for the fifth time but unorthodox Florian Mayer can be a tricky opponent.
Federer v Malisse
Xavier Malisse, a superb if erratic shot-maker, rediscovered some of his best form last week and excels on grass. Roger Federer looked vulnerable last time out but should still win.
Istomin v Youzhny
Denis Istomin is through to his first Grand Slam fourth round at the 17th attempt. Mikhail Youzhny, a former world No 8, is a talented stylist but has rarely lived up to his potential.
Del Potro v Ferrer
Neither player is at his best on grass but Juan Martin Del Potro's thunderbolt groundstrokes are tough for anyone to handle and may be too much for the reliable David Ferrer.
Murray v Cilic
Fourth meeting at Grand Slam level, with Andy Murray 2-1 up so far. Marin Cilic, after two years of moderate results, is on the rise again but should find an upbeat Murray too good.
Tsonga v Fish
Expect plenty of aces and not too many long points. Mardy Fish has bounced back well following health issues but may find Jo-Wilfried Tsonga's ball-striking power overwhelming.
Baker v Kohlschreiber
Brian Baker, back after five years out with injury, has made a sensational return to the Grand Slam stage. Philipp Kohlschreiber usually lacks the weapons to trouble the best.
Women's last 16 draw
Sharapova v Lisicki
Sabine Lisicki has bounced back impressively after barely putting a ball in court two weeks ago in Birmingham, but Maria Sharapova should still prove too strong.
Clijsters v Kerber
Angelique Kerber had won only two matches at Wimbledon before last week but has had a meteoric rise in the last year. Kim Clijsters, provided she stays fit, is a major threat.
Radwanska v Giorgi
Agnieszka Radwanska, a creative and intelligent player, has won six titles since last summer and is now world No 3. She should have too much nous for qualifier Camila Giorgi.
Kirilenko v Peng
Maria Kirilenko is through to the second week at Wimbledon for the first time in nine attempts. Shuau Peng is consistent but has never won a singles title on the main tour.
Williams v Shvedova
Big-hitting Yaroslava Shvedova, a French Open quarter-finalist, won all 24 points in first set against Sara Errani and could upset the unpredictable Serena Williams.
Kvitova v Schiavone
Francesca Schiavone showed plenty of spirit in first week but will do well to hold off defending champion Petra Kvitova, whose big leftie serve is a major weapon.
Paszek v Vinci
Tamira Paszek, who reached the last eight last year, reserves her best for Wimbledon. Roberta Vinci is through to the second week of a Grand Slam for the first time in 31 attempts.
Azarenka v Ivanovic
First major test for world No 2 Victoria Azarenka. Ana Ivanovic, working with British coach Nigel Sears, is steadily improving but will need to move up a gear to win this one.
