The Scottish pair beat the French duo of Julien Benneteau and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-3 ,6-3 in the first round, performing so strongly they did not face a single break point and wrapped up victory inside an hour.
Andy Murray was beaten 6-4, 6-1 by the Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis on Wednesday, in the first round of the singles. He admitted after that match he may have returned to action too soon after his disappointment in the Australian Open final, where he lost to Novak Djokovic in straight sets.
"I have to think about what it was," he said. "You have to get the balance right, making sure you come to the tournament mentally feeling you are ready to win it and maybe I didn't feel like that."
Murray and Murray go on to face India's Mahesh Bhupathi and Marcel Granollers of Spain in the quarter-finals of the ATP event.
