After falling short in the Qatar Open final, Andy Murray returns to Indian Wells seeking another deep tournament run.

The 35-year-old has not reached the fourth round at the California event in eight years but will be encouraged by his performance in Doha, pushing Daniil Medvedev close in the final.

Argentina’s Tomas Etcheverry is his first opponent, with the two players set to meet for the first time.

The 23-year-old is another recent beaten finalist, falling short against home favourite Nicolas Jarry at the Chile Open in Santiago on Sunday.

Andy Murray vs Tomas Etcheverry will be held on Thursday 9 March at Indian Wells in California. Murray is set to be third on Stadium 1 Court, straight after fellow Brit Emma Raducanu plays Danka Kovinic, and is scheduled to start around 9.30pm GMT.
