Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.British trio Jamie Baker, Oliver Golding and Liam Broady have been handed wild card places for next week's AEGON Championships at The Queen's Club.
The Lawn Tennis Association have awarded the final three places in the traditional Wimbledon warm-up event to the home trio, with Broady making his first ATP Tour-level appearance.
A Wimbledon junior finalist last year, Broady also partnered Josh Ward-Hibbert to the Australian Open junior doubles title earlier this year.
Golding was another player to make a breakthrough in a junior grand slam event when he won last year's US Open boy's singles title, and has since added two Futures Tour titles to his CV.
It will be the world number 487's second successive year competing at Queen's, following last year's defeat to France's Nicolas Mahut.
World number 206 Baker, 25, has also enjoyed success on the Futures Tour this year, winning in Mexico, and has fought back impressively to resume his tour career after contracting a life-threatening virus four years ago.
Leon Smith, head of men's tennis at the LTA, said: "All three players have, in different ways, shown skill and determination to develop their games over the past 12 months, and I am confident they will all look to seize this opportunity to shine at such a prestigious event."
