Stan Wawrinka continued his title defence with a straight-sets win over Japan's Kei Nishikori in the quarter-finals. He now faces Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals. Wawrinka ended Djokovic's 25-match unbeaten run in Melbourne last year in a five-set thriller in the 2014 quarter-finals.

Wawrinka beat Nishikori, the fifth feed, 6-3 6-4 7-6 (8/6) in two hours and four minutes. So far the Swiss player has only dropped one set in the tournament.
