Here, we fill you in on ten things you might not know about the big man from the Czech Republic...
1: Rosol is 26 and hails from Brno, the Czech Republic's second largest city and a place more famous for motor racing at the Masaryk Circuit, which hosts a MotoGP race every year.
2: He is coached by former player Slava Dosedel, who was once ranked 26th in the world and reached the quarter-finals of the US Open in 1999.
3: Rosol is ranked exactly 100th.
4: His career-high ranking is 65th, which he achieved in August last year after reaching the quarter-finals of a Challenger tournament in San Marino.
5: Rosol's first-round win over Ivan Dodig was his first at Wimbledon in his career.
6: This is the sixth year in succession the Czech has played in the tournament and his previous five appearances all resulted in losses in the first round of qualifying.
7: Rosol says his favourite surface is clay and four of his five Challenger titles have come on the red stuff.
8: Rosol has never won a match in the main draw at either the Australian Open or the US Open.
9: His best grand slam performances have come at the French Open. Last year he qualified and reached the third round while last month he beat Argentina's Carlos Berlocq in the first round before losing to Juan Monaco.
10: Rosol had never played a professional match on grass before the AEGON Championships at Queen's Club earlier this month, where he beat Victor Hanescu and Marcos Baghdatis then lost to eventual champion Marin Cilic.
