Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

TODAY

Coventry v West Ham

Coventry will have Borrows and Williams back after suspension, while manager Atkinson is likely to turn to winger Ndlovu if Telfer fails to shake off a hip injury. West Ham's Croat defender Bilic has recovered from the ankle problem that kept him out against Arsenal last week and is set to replace Harkes. Midfielder Moncur is also back in the squad after injury.

Leeds v Bolton

Brolin may displace Masinga in the Leeds starting line-up while defenders Dorigo, Jobson (knee) and Pemberton (leg, flu) are ruled out and Kelly (shin, knee) is doubtful, so Radebe and Worthington should keep their places. Bolton may recall McGinlay and Stubbs in place of Blake and Thompson, who is suspended.

Man City v Blackburn

City have Flitcroft and Frontzeck available after suspensions. Hiley, an impressive debutant against Newcastle last week, may move to right- back to accommodate the German. Blackburn wingers Wilcox (ankle) and Ripley (hamstring) are ruled out while Bohinen is very doubtful, but Newell is back after a two-match ban.

Middlesbrough v Everton

Middlesbrough's latest Brazilian import, Branco, could make his debut alongside player-manager Robson, who has recovered from a calf muscle injury. However, Pearson, Morris, Liddle, Pollock and Whelan are suspended and Juninho is still on international duty. Everton have Limpar back after suspension but Horne is still banned.

QPR v Arsenal

QPR have defenders McDonald, Maddix and Brevett ruled out through injury, so Ready, Challis, and the untried Plummer, 18, are in their squad. Arsenal will be without Wright (suspended) plus Adams and Bould (both injured).

Sheff Wed v Nottm Forest

Wednesday may move Degryse forward to partner Kovacevic up front as strikers Hirst (hamstring) and Bright (rib) are very doubtful. After three months out, Pembridge is back in the squad. Forest will be without Cooper (side strain) so Haland should continue in the centre of defence. Pearce is still unavailable due to a calf injury.

Tottenham v Southampton

Sheringham should recover from a midweek ankle injury but fellow Spurs striker Armstrong is out of contention with a similar problem. Southampton welcome back Le Tissier after flu, probably in place of Oakley. Dodd is banned and Neilson is injured, so Widdrington may stay in defence.

Wimbledon v Chelsea

Striker Holdsworth and defender Perry return after suspension for Wimbledon but veteran striker Harford is still banned. Despite groin and facial injuries, Ekoku should be fit to play for the Dons. Chelsea should be unchanged.

TOMORROW

Liverpool v Aston Villa

Liverpool hope that Collymore can shake off the effects of a heavy cold and Wright can overcome a slight groin strain. Villa forward Johnson faces a fitness test on a thigh injury while Taylor is available after a hamstring strain.
