Chen Xinhua yesterday escaped a suspension which could have ruled him out of playing for Great Britain at the Olympic Games. The 35-year-old England No 2 faced a possible ban following a controversial showdown with officials at the European Olympic trials in Manchester in January. Chen, who was coaching England No 1 Matthew Syed, failed to leave the court after receiving a red card by the Austrian umpire.
