As soon as tomorrow's FA Charity Shield is over, the pitch at Wembley will be prepared for the eighth American Bowl on Sunday when razzmatazz becomes official and the Dallas Cowboys meet the Detroit Lions. Dallas make their third appearance in the American Bowl, the pre-season exhibition games staged around the world. Detroit's Wembley visit is their first venture overseas and they have already opened their pre-season training with a

14-7 win over the Buffalo Bills last Friday. Dallas, the Super Bowl champions, fared less well, losing 13-7 to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. The match kicks off at 5.30pm.

How to get there: Underground to Wembley Park (Metropolitan or Jubilee Lines) or Wembley Central (Bakerloo Line). British Rail to Wembley Central. Road: Wembley Stadium complex is situated on the North Circular with access to the M40, M4, M1, A1 and M25.
