Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Robert Benson, the first Lord Bingley, built the Queen Anne house at Bramham in 1698 and laid out the grounds as rolling parkland, which today is the setting for the Toyota Bramham International Three-Day Event, one of six internationally rated events held in Britain. Twelve nations are competing this year for the Bramham Trophy and entries include Pippa Nolan, last year's winner. The changes to this year's cross-country course of 28 fences have made little difference to the length, but will increase stamina requirements and consequently riders will need to judge their pace tomorrow. Dressage continues today, with the show jumping on Sunday.
How to get there: Bramham Park, Wetherby, West Yorkshire, is close to A1, five miles south of Wetherby. Admission: today pounds 5 adults, dressage starts at 9am; tomorrow pounds 7, cross-country 8.30am; Sunday pounds 6, show jumping 10am; children under-12 half-price.
