The Winter Rally in Bournemouth tomorrow opens the 1994 Mintex National Series and the 95 entries will tackle 18 high-speed special stages in Ringwood and Udden Forests to the north. Murray Grierson, the Scottish Champion, leads the cars away from the rally headquarters at the Wessex Hotel in West Cliff Road to contest the first stage at 8am before moving to the fast forest stages.

Where to watch: Scrutineering (today 1pm-8pm): Littledown Centre, Bournemouth. Stage 1: Bournemouth Lower Gardens (tomorrow 8am-10am; park in nearby car parks). Stages 5 (10am), 10 (1.20pm) and 17 (5.20pm): Ringwood Forest (off B3081 Verwood Road from A31; easy spectator access from car park. Stages 6 (10.25am), 11 (1.45pm) and 16 (5pm): Uddens Forest (off A31 Ferndown by-pass; 1/2 mile walk). Return to Wessex Hotel (6.45pm). pounds 5 car parking gives access to both forest stages.
