Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

A mighty contest is in prospect tomorrow in the NatWest Trophy final when Guildford Kings, who won the Carlsberg League and Championship, the NatWest Trophy and the National Cup as Kingston last year before moving to Guildford, meet the League leaders, Thames Valley Tigers. Last season, the Tigers lost the National Cup and the Championship to Kingston, but have beaten Guildford, who retain only three players of that winning squad, in the league this term. Tigers are in form after success in the recent World invitation club championship at Crystal Palace. The programme opens with a free coaching clinic for 1,000 children from 12 to 2.30pm; 1.15pm Women's International: England Under-17 v British Colleges; 3pm Carlsberg League First Division: Birmingham Bullets v Leicester Riders; 5pm: NatWest Trophy final.

How to get there: National Indoor Arena, King Edward's Road, Birmingham city centre, near Broad Street. Admission: pounds 9 sold out, pounds 7 adults, pounds 5 children/OAPs and pounds 5, pounds 4. (Tel: Box Office 021-200 2222 or Carlsberg League 021-308 3505).
