From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY, who gave West Ham, their hosts, a 4-0 hammering in their Premiership game at Upton Park on Saturday, look the best value left in the FA Cup ahead of this week-end's fourth round, which features several potentially tight ties.

The Owls, who entertain Stockport, struggling in the First Division, at Hillsborough, should have no trouble in securing their place in the fifth round draw and, at 28-1 with Coral, they are not a bad bet.

Aston Villa should brush aside Fulham at Villa Park, and Second Division Bristol Rovers, rampant 6-0 winners at Reading on Saturday, should beat visitors Leyton Orient of the Third Division but make little appeal at 13-2 (no value) and 350-1 (no chance) to win the Cup outright. And Manchester United, while likely to beat Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday, may have the European Cup on their minds come the latter stages.

The other 12 ties could easily end in draws over 90 minutes a remark which also applies to this week's second round replays which feature Sheffield United versus Notts County and Swindon versus Barnsley.
