Sports betting: Palace looking good value to upset West Ham
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Crystal Palace have a tougher task at Upton Park tonight than when beating hapless Sheffield Wednesday 3-1 at Hillsborough but, with Attilio Lombardo back, Palace still look value at 11-4 to surprise West Ham, seeking to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat at Leicester last Monday.
Athletic Bilbao, who hammered Tenerife 3-0 at home on Saturday, are a sound bet at 2-1 to knock Aston Villa out of the Uefa Cup at Villa Park tomorrow night. Villa were disappointing when losing 2-0 at home to Chelsea on Saturday.
Strasbourg are good value at 5-1 to complete Liverpool's Uefa Cup humiliation at Anfield. Liverpool's defence promises to be just as weak as the one which conceded three goals in the first leg.
On Wednesday, Feyenoord are worth an interest at 11-4 to upset Manchester United in the Champions' League. United beat them 2-1 at Old Trafford recently, but it is worth remembering the ease with which Henk Vos went through the United defence to score in the closing stages. If he plays, the home side could give United problems.
PSV Eindhoven, who drew 1-1 at Heerenveen on Friday, look a solid wager at 13-8 effectively to end Newcastle United's Champions' League aspirations at St James' Park. Newcastle failed to impress in their 3-3 draw at home to Leicester on Saturday.
Finally, never mind the Ice Age factor, having won the first leg 3-2, Tromso deserve to be shorter than 11-1 to beat Chelsea in the second leg of their European Cup-Winners' Cup tie at Stamford Bridge.
