THE men's singles entry for this year's French Open includes all the top 104- ranked players in the world apart from John McEnroe, the French Tennis Federation said yesterday. Eight wild card entries will also be granted and 16 players will have to qualify for the championships between 24 May and 6 June. In the women's singles only Martina Navratilova of the leading players is absent.

JOHN McENROE is considering becoming Andre Agassi's coach. 'I think that would be an interesting possibility,' McEnroe said. Agassi, 22, the Wimbledon champion, says he would welcome McEnroe's help.
