Britain's Colin McRae hauled himself to within six seconds of the San Remo Rally leader and Subaru team-mate Piero Liatti after achieving the fastest time in all of yesterday's first four special stages. The Scot, handicapped by suspension problems which caused a puncture yesterday, jumped from eighth place into second place behind Italy's Liatti.
