ANDY GORAM, the Scotland goalkeeper, is one of nine players placed on the transfer list by Rangers. The others are Gary Stevens, Pieter Huistra, Fraser Wishart, Brian Reid, Chris Vinnicombe, David Hagen, Lee Robertson and Oleg Kuznetsov.

SAM ELLIS, the former manager of Blackpool and Bury, has taken charge at Lincoln City in succession to Keith Alexander, dismissed last week.

STEVE WATSON, the Newcastle United defender, has withdrawn from England's squad for the Toulon Under-21 tournament, which starts this weekend. Chris Makin, of Oldham, has been called up.
