IAN BOTHAM buried his differences with Somerset yesterday and accepted an honorary life membership. Eight years ago, the former England all-rounder quit in protest over Somerset's decision not to retain Viv Richards and Joel Garner. THE Australia A team will play three and four-day matches against seven counties when they tour England next year. The eight-week visit is the first incoming A tour to this country.

MARK FELTHAM, the Middlesex all- rounder, is to undergo an ankle operation and will miss the remainder of the season.
