INZAMAM-ul-HAQ steered Pakistan to victory in their opening New Zealand tour match with 105 against Sir Ron Brierley's XI in Hamilton yesterday. Pakistan were 211 for 6 from their 50 overs and they went on to win by four runs.

CASTLE CUP Third day of four (Johannesburg): Border 251 and 214 (M P Stonier 51; M Vandrau 5-42); Transvaal 272 and 20 for 1. (Bloemfontein): Orange Free State 339 and 14 for 0; Northern Transvaal 159 (N Boje 4-39) and 193 (B J Sommerville 72, M Gidley 5-48). Orange Free State won by 10 wickets.
