West Indies declared their second innings at 64 for 4, leaving New Zealand A 375 to win in just over one session of play. New Zealand A batted out the final session to end the three-day match on 58 for two in their second innings.
Australia's Prime Minister's XI beat India by an impressive 164 runs in their limited-overs match at Manuka Oval, Canberra yesterday. The hosts, picked by PM John Howard, who watched most of the game, scored a record 334 for 5. Thd Queenslander Andrew Symonds scored 101 off 90 balls and the South Australian opener David Fitzgerald hit 115 off 123 but the tourists could only manage 170 all out.
