AUSTRIAN Martin Hollwarth won the 70-metre event yesterday on the opening day of the World Cup competition in Sapporo, Japan. The Albertville Olympic silver medallist jumped 88.5m and 92m at the Miyanomori Schanze facility, scoring a total of 232.8 points for his first victory of the season. The defending champion, Werner Rathmayr, also of Austria, placed second with an 88m jump and then a 92.5m leap, the day's longest.
