LOTHAR MATTHAUS, the captain of West Germany's 1990 World Cup winning team who missed last summer's European championship in Sweden because of a knee injury, has been named in Germany's 22-man squad for a friendly international against Mexico in Dresden next Wednesday. The 31-year-old midfielder returned to the Bundesliga last month after moving from Internazionale to Bayern Munich. The game also marks the Marseille striker Rudi Voller's international farewell.
