WIMBLEDON yesterday completed the signing of Dean Holdsworth, the striker they have had on loan for a month, from Brentford for pounds 720,000. In return, the Bees gained the forward Mickey Bennett and the midfield player Zbigniew Kruszynski from the Dons at a joint price of pounds 120,000.

TREVOR GOULD, the manager of the Diadora League Premier Division side Aylesbury United, has resigned after nine years with the club to become reserve- team manager at Coventry City, where his brother Bobby is the manager. Bobby's son, Jonathan, is also on the staff at Highfield Road.
