REGGIE JOHNSON won a unanimous 12-round decision over his fellow American Lamar Parks yesterday to retain the World Boxing Association middleweight title in Houston, Texas.
BRIAN MITCHELL, the South African former World Boxing Association lightweight champion, hopes to come out of retirement to fight the title-holder, the American Tony Lopez, in either Pretoria or Sun City next February. The fight will proceed provided the No 1 contender, another South African, Dingaan Thobela, agrees to step aside.
MICHAEL WATSON will be the beneficiary of a gala dinner at London's Grosvenor House presented by Henry Cooper next spring.
