Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.FRANK WARREN yesterday added the incentive of a pounds 25,000 win-bonus to a joint pounds 400,000 purse in an effort to persuade Paul Hodkinson to face Colin McMillan in a world featherweight unification fight. McMillan defends his World Boxing Organisation title against Ruben Palacio at Olympia on Saturday. Hodkinson is the World Boxing Council champion.
HEROL GRAHAM, who defends the the British middleweight title against Frank Grant at Elland Road, Leeds, tomorrow night, would settle for pounds 10,000 training expenses if Chris Eubank is prepared to meet him for the WBO super-middleweight championship. Mickey Duff, the London promoter, said last night: 'If Herol beats Grant I will offer Eubank pounds 200,000 for a contest to be staged anywhere he likes.'
PAT CLINTON, who retained his World Boxing Organisation flyweight title with a narrow points decision over Danny Porter on Saturday, will make a second voluntary defence of his crown at Glasgow's Kelvin Hall later this year.
WALLY SWIFT, who lost his British light-middleweight title to Andy Till last week, could have his right wrist in plaster for three months because of a bone he broke in the wrist during the fight.
