DENNIS ANDRIES, the 39-year-old former world light-heavweight champion from Hackney, will challenge the British cruiserweight champion, Carl Thompson, at London's York Hall on 17 February.

DUKE McKENZIE will make the first defence of his World Boxing Organisation super-bantamweight title on 10 February at London's Lewisham Theatre, where the 29-year-old from Croydon will meet the mandatory challenger, Daniel Jiminez of Puerto Rico. He has won 11 of 15 professional fights, but has never boxed outside his own country.

JOHN DAVISON, the 34-year-old Newcastle boxer, has relinquished the British featherweight title to concentrate on a fight against the WBO world champion, Ruben Palacio of Colombia, at Sunderland on 13 March.
