Your support makes all the difference.ARTHUR WINT, the man who won Jamaica's first Olympic gold medal, in the 400 metres at the Wembley Games in 1948, has died in hospital in Kingston. Wint won the 800 metres silver medal in the 1948 competition and then followed that with the 800m silver medal and the 4 x 400m relay gold medal in the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki. From 1974 to 1978 he was Jamaica's High Commissioner to London.
