Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.A week of turmoil in which the head coach, Anthony Eddy, was sacked and the director of rugby, John Brain, offered to resign ended with a first Premiership victory for Worcester.
The visitors mastered a saturated Vicarage Road pitch, the state of which had left the match in doubt, a late drop goal from the replacement fly-half Shane Drahm settling the result after Saracens had built a 17-3 half-time lead.
Thomas Castaignède's opening try, thanks to a wonderful pass from Andy Farrell, and a Glen Jackson effort looked to have set up the home team for a comfortable victory, but Worcester's pack was immense, their talismanic prop, Tony Windo, helping to provide focus, direction and a sense of purpose for the bottom-placed side.
The hooker, Chris Fortey, was driven over from a line-out. Then the hulking Gavin Quinnell scored his first Premiership try - but his sixth of the season in all competitions. Drahm, an Australian who is qualified to play for England, did the rest with his boot.
