Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Joe Worsley is set to return to full training next week after missing England's autumn Test matches.

With Lewis Moody serving a nine-week ban following his dismissal against Samoa last weekend, the 28-year-old flanker has a chance to complete his recovery from a knee injury and reclaim his place for the Six Nations opener against Wales on 4 February.

Wasps, who will book a place in the Powergen Cup semi-finals if they beat Saracens at the Causeway Stadium today, have recalled Josh Lewsey, Tom Voyce and Simon Shaw, while Matt Dawson is named on the bench.

Saracens have named the wing Nnamdi Obi, flanker Emmanuel Amapakabo, lock Tom Ryder, prop Aaron Liffchak and No 8 Steffon Armitage. Victory for them could open the door for Cardiff to progress from Pool B.

Following their recent exploits for Wales, Nicky Robinson, Mike Phillips, John Yapp and Robin Sowden-Taylor all return for Cardiff today against London Irish at the Madejski Stadium. Robert Sidoli and Martyn Williams will sit on the bench, but Jonah Lomu's eagerly-awaited debut remains on hold. It is thought the former All Black wing may be targeting the 17 December home meeting with Calvisano in the Heineken Cup.

Leinster moved up to fourth in the Celtic League with a 21-9 victory over Connacht at the Galway Sportsground after trailing 9-3 until just before half-time. Felipe Contepomi contributed 16 points and Girvan Dempsey went over for a 50th-minute try. David Slemen kicked all nine points for Connacht, who are nine points adrift at the bottom.

Harlequins opened a 12-point lead in National League One when they won 26-20 away to Bedford. Lomu's former New Zealand team-mate Andrew Mehrtens kicked 16 points for Quins.
