From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Wales scored nine tries on their way to a 60-14 thrashing of Italy as they ended their championship with their biggest victory in Six Nations history, securing second place in this year's tournament in the process.
While Wales went about building a lead early in the match with Dan Biggar taking a penalty attempt at goal to show their respect to the winless Italians, the back line soon began to run riot, and the home side led 27-0 by the break courtesy of tries from the returning Rhys Webb, Dan Biggar and Jonathan Davis.
If the first half was onimous for Italy, the second would prove torturous as Wales repeated last year's peformance and went for broke, running in tries from seemingly anywhere on the Principality Stadium pitch.
The replacement, Ross Moriarty, scored two tries during the second period while George North scored an incrdible effort from inside his own half as he beat three defenders to go over under the posts.
The rout was completed by tries from Jamie Roberts, Liam Williams and replacement scrum-half Gareth Davies, while Italy did score two consolation tries through Gugliemo Palazzani and Gonzalo Garcia.
