World Champions New Zealand wowed the Wembley crowd with a spine tingling rendition of the Haka before they kicked off their World Cup campaign against Argentina in Pool C.

Before the All Blacks began their title defence they infused themselves with aggression and their opposition with trepidation when captain Richie McCaw led them in the Maori war dance.

The side adopted the pre-match ritual more than 120 years ago and currently use the Kapa o Pango, which was composed for them in 2005.

Thousands of first-time fans and seasoned supporters took to social media to react to the terrifying tradition.
