Welcome to the Independent's live coverage of the 2016 Six Nations as title holders Ireland host Wales at the Aviva stadium in Dublin.

Ireland have won the last two Six Nations titles, but Wales won the last meeting between the pair 23-16. Despite it being the first round of action, this match could go a long way in deciding who will emerge as eventual winners of this years tournament.

Yesterday's action saw France beat Italy 23-21 while England kicked off their campaign with a 15-9 win over Scotland at Murrayfield.
