Rugby World Cup: England issue injury update

England got their World Cup preparations off to a promising start with a hard-fought and well-deserved win over Wales.

Against a full-strength Welsh side, Eddie Jones’ mismatch XV – featuring a number of debutants, including Willi Heinz and Lewis Ludlam – put in an assured and composed display to beat the Six Nations champions 33-19.

Billy Vunipola, Joe Cokanasiga and Luke Cowan-Dickie all dived over for England, while Gareth Davies, George North and Wyn Jones crossed the white line for the visitors.

It was George Ford who made sure of the win, though, the England fly-half kicking 15 points before a late Elliot Daly drop goal wrapped up victory.

So how did the two teams fare? See the gallery below for our player ratings.
