Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Looking forward to today's quarter-final against Gloucester at the Causeway Stadium, the England captain said: "I don't look at my playing career as England, England, England. When I walk through the door at Wasps it's very much all about my club. I want to succeed for the supporters of Wasps and it's Wasps I'm most excited about at club level. There'll be one English team in the semi-final and I want to make sure it's us."
Wasps will field the side that dismantled Northampton 31-5 last Sunday in the Zurich Premiership while Gloucester, who beat Saracens 16-8 the previous day, have restored Jon Goodridge at full-back.
Harlequins have recalled fly-half Paul Burke, Samoan wing George Harder and flanker Roy Winters following last weekend's 15-15 draw with London Irish for today's Parker Pen Challenge Cup semi-final first leg with Connacht at The Stoop.
Following yesterday's 57-18 success at Coventry, in which wing Daren O'Leary ran in a hat-trick of tries, Worcester need one more win to complete a 100 per cent record in National League One.
