From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Wasps are hopeful of appointing Cardiff Blues boss Dai Young as their new director of rugby early next week, Press Association Sport understands.
Young, who is the longest-serving coach in Welsh regional rugby having been in charge of the Blues for nine seasons, has been strongly linked with a move to the Adams Park club, with reports suggesting he will be unveiled as soon as tomorrow.
Those reports are thought to be wide of the mark as it is understood Young has yet to agree his release from Cardiff City Stadium, where he has a year left to run on his current deal.
But Wasps are believed to be closing in on agreeing a three-year contract with the former Wales and Lions prop.
Should Young complete the switch he will join forces with Wales assistant coach Shaun Edwards, as well as former Blues fly-half Nicky Robinson who has made the move from Gloucester.
Young, who has guided the Blues to Amlin Challenge Cup and Anglo-Welsh Cup success during his tenure, has spoken of his desire to coach his country when current incumbent Warren Gatland leaves the role, and a move to the Premiership would serve to broaden his experience.
Despite the speculation over Young's future Cardiff Blues say they have not received an approach from Wasps for the 43-year-old.
"We have had no approach from London Wasps regarding Cardiff Blues director of rugby David Young. David Young is still in contract at the Blues and has one year to run on that contract, which we expect him to honour," a Cardiff Blues spokesman said.
